I.What turns up
First editions, exhibition catalogues and photobooks that are no longer in print. Recent copies have included Robert Mapplethorpe’s Some Women with an introduction by Joan Didion (1989), Patti Smith’s Babel (1978) and her Ha! Ha! Houdini! chapbook (1977), Sophie Calle’s Double Game, a 1973 Hannah Höch catalogue from Bielefeld, and Albert Oehlen’s picture book for Martin Kippenberger.
II.Signed copies
Signed copies come in from artists, photographers and publishers, and from collections. Some are numbered editions, like Tilde Bay Kristoffersen’s ÆON, signed and numbered in an edition of 300. Signed books are marked as signed in the shop.
III.Where the books come from
We buy from private collections, auctions and second hand dealers in Europe and further away. Each second hand copy says so on its page, with its condition where it matters.
